Visiting Kiev (Kyiv)
Kiev is the city where the new and the ancient create excellent chances for historical and aesthetical exploration. Nevertheless, before you visit this incredible city, take some time to decide on at least two questions: accommodation and transport.

Surely noone comes to Kiev to stay indoors. The megalopolis provides many wonderful places of interest if you can get around. There's nothing to worry about, though. The public transportation is fairly appropriate.
The most comfortable way to move around is Kiev taxis. the driver will deliver you you from the station to your hotel or apartment for less than $35. In fact, for a foreigner, the Ukrainian taxis should be quite affordable. It is easy to taxi Kiev around. However, if you do not inrend to use only taxis in Kiev, the city offers lots of transportation options.
First of all, it is the metro that covers most of the city. It is very suitable when you have to travel large distances during hot hours when there are traffic jams on the surface. Second, you can use buses, trolley busses and trams. These are quite cheep: you are charged a fixed amount to drive any distance. However, they are not very regular. Next, you could always walk around or use Kiev's unique transportation - funicular that goes up the shore of the Dnieper. And finally, you can just use your feet.
Come to Kyiv. This city disposes of plenty of attractions to impress an aspiring tourist.
