Punk rock originated in the 1974 as an irksome, underground revolution opposed to common current of pop music. Rock ensambles alike Green Day, Iggy Pop, and Rancid helped bring punk back in the mid-1990's. This time the weave of rapid, naive rock with melodic pop melodies cooled heels on the TV. These days, soi-disant pop punk is a key part in the sphere of mainstream pop music. These ten albums are fine place to start from to grasp punk pop.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's endless endeavour to offend any grown ups in the locality, this album featured a girl dressed as an enema governess on the cover. The music inside is youthful and catchy with the massive hit song “Adam's Song.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls perform punk, too, and this disc is a profuse proof of the fact. The group formed themselves after the rock band Ramones in NY with every singer taking the name Donna. Download Paramore to compare.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Waldorf Good Charlotte got into the top ten of the pop album chart. It's full with history of college and difficult mothers. The smashing #1 song is “Lifestyles Of the Rich and Famous.”

4. Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

Later declining from their 90's peak of popularity, Green Day faded from live performances to put together punk rock's first opera. Although the punk band was unsure about their fan's reaction to American Idiot, it turned out to be an American punk rock classic topping the album chart and winning an award for Best Rock Album of 2004.

5. The Lemonheads - Ceiling Fan in My Spoon

The Lemonheads' lead singer Evan Griffith Dando is the one and only punk musician to become a true teenager dream-boy. Along the way the band wrote down some outstanding songs, too, featuring “Ceiling Fan in My Spoon”, “Download Paramore” and “Rest Assured”.

6. The Offspring - Not the One

The Offspring a highly influential American rock bandfrom California were one of the devoted punk renascence bands from the middle of nineties. 7. Rancid - Journey To The End Of The East Bay

Rancid a lot like such late 70's classic punk as the Clash. They also use the of street punk in almost all of their albums.

8. Simple Plan - Still Not Getting Any…

10. Weezer - Surf Wax America (Blue Album)

Though they are revered as founders of the “emo” compositions, Weezer's records are also pure punk pop in style. “My Name Is Jonas” was their first hit and then a video putting the rock band in a Happy Days episode promoted to make “Buddy Holly” even bit more popular.
